My Covid-19 "Work From Home" Survival Plan - Feel Free to Try It!

My Covid-19 "Work From Home" Survival Plan - Feel Free to Try It!

So, Work From Home seems to be an introverts dream. This is what they've been preparing for for years! For an extrovert, these times freak me out. I can't spend more than 2 days locked up inside, sitting down, looking at a computer screen without going crazy....so I've had to adapt to save my mindset.

Here is my routine, maybe it helps you too!
6:30am - First things first, get outside and get moving. When I wake up, I throw on gym clothes, potentially have a coffee if I'm early and run to the gym.

7:30am-8:30am - GET ACTIVE with a 1 hour gym session with Orangetheory Fitness. These guys have been amazing. They have limited the classes so there is a 1-2m gap between each person, they sanitise and clean the entire studio after each class and they ensure everyone is disinfecting their stations after each part of the workout. It feels super clean and safe and at the end of the day, training builds your immunity and your respiratory system which will help fight viruses. It's important for your mindset too to keep training and moving during times like this.
*UPDATE - Now that Gyms have been forced to close. I highly recommend Centr by Chris Hemsworth or Sweat by Kayla... They both provide excellent at home workouts and nutritional plans!

VITAMINS - I've been loading up on 2000mg Vitamin C, 6 Omega 3,6,9 tablets a day, 3 Bioceuticals LivPhase a day (to support a healthy liver), Vitamin D drops, a probiotic and 2 Olive Leaf tablets a day. These all help in building the ol' immunity up.

9am - I'm back home, showered and start my day with a meditation. Just 10mins on focus. I use Dandapani's Unwavering Focus app (paid) or Insight Timer (free) for my meditation. Just to get my head right and into the zone for work.

I try and keep a normal work day. Taking breaks every 2 hours to move and stretch and have healthy snacks.

1pm - SOCIAL INTERACTION I eat lunch while on the phone to someone I haven't spoken to in a while. Not work related, just social. This has been an interesting opportunity to reconnect with people I may have lost contact with from being too busy over the last few years.

2pm - Back to Work - Wholesale phone calls/enquiries/speak with the team... just normal work stuff.

4:30/5pm - FRESH AIR - So important and has been crucial for my mindset. I go for a 2.5-5km walk while listening to a podcast or audiobook. Just to get some sun and fresh air. Vitamin D is VITAL to rid the body of or prevent the body from getting Covid-19. I also believe staying active is good for the mindset. Having a walk before dinner is also a great idea as its the time of day you start feeling peckish and can snack a little too much.

6/6:30pm - LONG DINNER - I've made a point of ordering food in from my favourite restaurants to keep them going during this time. What is Sydney without it's incredible bar and restaurant culture? I'm trying to #KeepSydneyEating by ordering in. The best part? It feels like I'm adding to the community and always enjoying fabulous meals...no need to cook!
Add to that a couple of glasses of vino and it's been a great way to reconnect with the brands we import, try new vintages and do my own wine and food pairing experiments. It makes dinner feel less lonely and I feel like I'm learning and being productive at the same time. I've worked out what my favourite combination of wines has been and have put it into a case for you to try for yourself. They are wines that go with all different types of cuisines and are easy to drink!

9pmTurn off devices until I fall to sleep - it's really good for our sleep hygiene and mental health to stay away from news and screens right now. I've also stopped reading Non-Fiction and have started becoming immersed in fictional writing to take my mind away from all the craziness in the world. Its good to stay informed with the news but not to be consumed by it!

So, that's been my routine. My advice to stay sane during this crisis?
- STAY ACTIVE
- GET SOME VITAMIN D
- EAT WELL
- FOCUS ON YOUR NUTRITION AND SLEEP HEALTH!!
- CALL A FRIEND.
- LEARN A NEW SKILL
- EXPLORE NEW WINES FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD
- ORDER FOOD IN FROM YOUR FAVOURITE RESTAURANT SO THEY ARE STILL AROUND WHEN THIS IS OVER

Stay safe friends and WASH YOUR HANDS!

As mentioned above here are my favourite combination of wines at the moment. I love them all as they pair well with different types of cuisines. Plus, their easy to drink, so you can enjoy them with or without food!

Side Note: I hope you're doing well during these times, stay safe and all the best!
