Domaine Amirault Bourgueil (cab franc)
Varietal: Cabernet Franc (100%)
Tasting Note: This red wine reveals a subtle, floral nose with notes of violet and ripe black fruits such as blackcurrant and cherry, complemented by delicate hints of spices. On the palate, it is powerful yet round, with a fine tannic structure and a long, elegant finish that echoes its ripe fruit character.
Location: Produced in the AOC Bourgueil region of the Loire Valley, this cuvée reflects the rich winemaking heritage of Restigné, where tradition and authenticity are at the heart of production.
Terroir: The vineyard sits on soils composed of 40% sand and gravel and 60% clay-limestone. Grapes have been cultivated following organic conversion practices since 1996, using ancestral vineyard techniques that give the wine its genuine character.
In the Vineyard: The estate employs traditional methods, with careful attention to vine health and fruit quality, ensuring each vintage expresses the personality of the terroir.
Vinification: Grapes are destemmed and undergo maceration for 10 days in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats. Fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeasts to preserve the wine’s natural expression.
Ageing: The wine is aged for 6 months before bottling, allowing the tannins to soften and the flavors to integrate.
Serving: Best served at 16°C.
Food Pairings: Ideal with delicatessen, red and white meats, grilled dishes, and a selection of cheeses.
