5 ‘Budget Friendly’ Wine Bars in Sydney!

Want to go out and have a few glasses of interesting wine but don't want to break the budget? Here is my guide to the best Wine Bars across Sydney that are cheap and cheerful :)

Black Bottle Darlinghurst

This is one of my favourite spots in Darlinghurst and completely off the beaten track. The front entry is on Darlinghurst Road and you can enter through the back of Victoria St. They do a $15 carafe happy hour between 5-7 each night which is the best place to start a night out. Excellent wines by the glass that are usually on rotation, some really unusual finds and not pricey at all.

MV Bistro & Bar Surry Hills
I LOVE this wine list... it's ever changing and expanding and there are wines from all over Australia and the world at ridiculously good prices. If you are feeling splurgy, they also have a wine list by Coravin! Pair that with a cheese plate or a plate of pasta and you are set for a good night in.

deVine Food and Wine Sydney
I feel like if you've dined in Sydney, you have had a wine at deVine. It's the 'papa bear' of so many wine bars across Sydney in my opinion. Excellent wine list and suitable for all budgets and wine knowledge

Timbah Glebe
Glebe’s relaxed and rustic Timbah follows the democracy in a bottle regime. The whites and reds chosen by the first customers become the options served by the glass that evening, encouraging creatures of habit to try less common varietals. An extensive wine list looks after the more discerning patrons and like the wine offering and is rotated frequently.

Fix St James Sydney
Not only is the wine list by the glass extensive, Fix also offers BYO for only $20 a bottle so if you have a bottle that has been resting for some time, why not get over to Fix, let them organise the food to match your vino and enjoy the fruit of your patience!

Do you have other wine bars you like to frequent in Sydney that are really affordable? Let me know in the comments below.
